ESP Hires Developer Josh Willis

Josh Willis has been hired as a new software developer for ESP. He brings a wealth of knowledge in programming, particularly in SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), the discipline involved in programming, configuring, and monitoring programmable logic controllers.

Josh is the son of a Navy man. His list of ports reads like a travelogue: Omaha, Bremerton, San Diego, plus many more. During his time in Germany, he learned to speak and write German fluently and pursued the language in higher education.

At eleven years old, Josh began programming as a hobby. Later, he found a passion for computing during programming classes in high school.

He is currently completing a bachelor's of Computer Science at Western Governors University, emphasizing C++ and C# programming languages and Mathematics.

Before coming to ESP, Josh worked for an engineering firm in Baltimore that offered modernized automation, monitoring, and control solutions to electric utilities, heavy industry, government, and numerous other entities. That is where he cut his professional teeth on the disciplines of SCADA, Remote Terminal Unit (RTU), and Human-Machine Interface (HMI). In a nutshell, Josh knows how to control machines using microprocessors and their associated interfaces. In this case, he worked with interfaces and applications that monitored power transformers.

Josh is excited to live in Spokane. Finding a company that does "good" was of importance. He found a fit with Enhanced Software Products, Inc. Although still in training, Josh is working on tickets involving FORZA reports.

Josh enjoys cooking. He is also developing a software application that allows users to work with components building electronic circuits for a hobby.

We're happy to have Josh on board and expect great things from him soon.
